The questions a parent asks first.
Short answers; each one links to the page that binds.
What does mastered mean?
- Written practice must be correct on the first try without hints. Ratios and Exponents also require all three questions in an unseen new-number check to be correct on their first attempts without hints. Repeating a revealed answer is practice, not fresh evidence. A class mark is self-reported, not independently checked. These records do not prove lasting recall.
What is free?
- The whole map, kindergarten to AP Calculus BC, and 28 nodes open all the way (the first two of every course), study sheet and practice, for one child on this device, with no card and no clock on it. The family plan is $12 a month or $99 a year and opens every node, for up to six children, with progress saved to the account, the mock papers and the climb. Both plans, line by line.
Who is it for?
- A child anywhere from kindergarten to AP Calculus BC, and the parent who wants to see the whole road rather than this week's homework. It was drawn first for the accelerated pathway (Dimensions Math 4 to 7, then NC Math 1 in eighth grade, then the high school courses), and then back to kindergarten and across the standard grades. Why a map.
Is everything written, or are some nodes empty?
- Every node on the map, kindergarten to AP Calculus BC, has its study sheet, worked examples and practice written. If a node ever ships without its practice, this answer changes first.
What does a child under 13 need?
- Nothing of their own. A parent makes one account and adds each child as a profile with a first name; a child never needs an email or a password, and no information is collected from a child under 13 without a parent. The map is per child, and switching profiles is one tap. What is kept, and how to have it deleted, is on the privacy page.
How do I cancel?
- From the account page, any time; the plan runs to the end of the period already paid for and no further charge is made. A yearly plan cancelled within fourteen days of paying is refunded in full. The price you join at is kept for as long as the plan is not interrupted. The terms say the same thing at greater length.
Does it work offline?
- A page that is open keeps working when the connection goes: the browser keeps a copy of practice results and the board's pages. Family progress retries syncing when the connection returns. Use “Download for offline practice” on a unit while online to open it later from Downloaded units. Downloads last seven days for the selected learner on this device. Other pages and new downloads need a connection.
What is the board?
- A sheet of squared paper beside every question, to work it out on by hand with a pen, a finger or the mouse, and a page of its own for anything else. It is not marked; the answer box is.
Can I print it?
- Every study sheet and practice page prints as a sheet of paper, with a code on it that opens the same work online. There is also a catalogue of printable forms for the younger grades.
Can a school or a tutor use it?
- Yes. A teacher's account invites students by email; each student's account is linked to the teacher, who sees their map. For a class has the details and how to ask about a class licence.
