One map for the whole room.
A teacher sees thirty maps at once and knows, before the test, which node each child is stuck on and which idea underneath it gave way. Teachers can view invited students' maps with Family. The licence for a whole class is arranged by email, with a person.
What works today
- A teacher's account invites a student aged 13 or over by email from the account page. The link makes the student's account already linked to the teacher; up to 40 invitations can be open at once, which is a class with room to spare.
- The teacher sees each linked student's map: what is mastered, what is next, and where the gap is. Students see their own map only.
- Preview the whole map and try the first two nodes of every course free, without an account. Inviting students requires Family, and a teacher's Family plan opens every node for each student they invite. Every sheet prints, and every practice page has a board beside it.
- Nothing is collected from a child under 13 without a parent, and nothing about anybody is sold or shown to advertisers. The privacy page is written so a school's data officer can read it without a follow-up email.
Age, adult roles and access
Family includes up to six child profiles under the account owner. Parents can invite a tutor or another adult to view progress and assign practice; that shared role does not let the adult practice as the child or change the owner's billing. Email-invited students must be 13 or over.
Children under 13 use an adult-managed profile with no email or password. A parent or guardian must authorize the child's use and any optional child-data features. A teacher account alone does not establish parental consent. Classroom access and seats require a separately agreed licence; ask for the applicable consent, data-processing, retention and deletion documentation before enrolling children.
A class licence
What to ask for is a whole class on the family plan's terms, progress saved and followed to every device, without a card per household. There is no printed price yet: classes are not all the same size, and the first ones are being priced with the schools that ask.
Send the size of the class, the school or district, and the grades or courses, and you get a reply from the person who runs the site.
Or write to hello@cartomath.com in your own words.
